enCAD Technologies delivered the design for an easy-to-carry, compact and sturdy laptop table. There were many critical parts that our designers found challenging and exciting like designing the Top T joint to the laptop tray, designing a compact and strong slider rail, positioning, and designing the wrist pad. The material selection was also critical as it required to be strong, long-lasting, and precise.
Client Requirements:
- To design a laptop table that can be used for both laptops and tablets. The table must be easy to fold and keep aside after use.
- Small, portable, and easy to store.
- Easy to set up, adjust and use while sitting in a chair or lying in bed.
- Able to securely clamp a laptop or tablet to its tabletop which can be tilt adjusted to over 90 degrees.
- Has parts with multiple functions and features with multiple purposes.
- Ergonomic, study, and durable while being stylish and attractive.
- Made from environment-friendly materials.
Project Highlights:
This is a daily-use consumer product that must meet several requirements. Firstly, the laptop table should be easy to carry, compact, and sturdy. To achieve this, enCAD Technologies designers conducted a detailed study about similar products. We produced a new design with reference to the conducted research. Despite the challenges and excitement, there were many critical parts that our designers found during the design process. For instance, designing the Top T joint to the laptop tray, designing a compact and strong slider rail, and positioning and designing the wrist pad. In addition, the material selection was also critical as it required to be strong, long-lasting, and precise. Specifically, ABS was chosen for this purpose.
